Overview
Lactose intolerance is an inability to fully digest the milk sugar (lactose) in dairy products. It's usually caused by a deficiency of an enzyme in the body called lactase.
Symptoms

Treatments
Avoidance of dairy products or use of products made for lactose-intolerant people can reduce symptoms.
