Overview

Necrotizing fasciitis is a serious bacterial infection. It spreads quickly and destroys tissue under the skin. The infection is contracted through a skin break. Most people who get the infection have a weakened immune system.

Symptoms

Signs and symptoms include blisters, pain, fever, fatigue and vomiting.

Antibiotics and surgery can help stop infection.
