Current Group Eligible to Receive the Vaccine: Phase 1B – Tier 3 — Check up–to–date tier status
Mosaic is vaccinating eligible residents through the state of Missouri tier system. As of January 18, 2021, Missouri has activated Phase 1B – Tier 3.
Who is currently eligible to receive vaccines?
As of 01/18/21, the State of Missouri has authorized COVID-19 vaccinations for Phase 1B – Tier 3. Those Tiers include members of the public who meet the following eligibility:
- Child care
- Food and Agriculture Sector

I don’t live in St. Joseph, Maryville or Albany, can I still sign up for the Appointment Request List for those areas?
At this time, Mosaic Life Care is following the direction of the Governor and focusing vaccine eligibility on individuals in open tiers who live in Mosaic’s service area in Missouri. Eligible individuals in the following counties may register for the Appointment Request List:
What should I bring to my vaccination appointment?
Photo ID (state issued driver’s license or valid ID card)
What should I expect when I arrive for my appointment?
- Vaccines will be provided only by appointment, while supplies last.
- In order to maintain social distancing, anyone not receiving a vaccine will be asked to remain outside the clinic area.
- Wear a loose shirt or top with the upper arm accessible.
- Children are not allowed at the site and childcare is not provided.
At your first vaccination, you will:
- Complete and sign consent forms upon arrival
- Receive a reminder card with the second vaccination date
- Be directed to a designated vaccination station
- Have your vaccination information added to ShowMeVax (the state of Missouri’s vaccine database)
- Remain in an area where caregivers can observe and monitor you for 15 minutes post-vaccination
- Have side effects, most likely within the first 48 hours. They can be described as flu-like, including pain, fatigue, fever and headache. There have been no reports of any serious safety concerns.
- Receive vaccine education
Why is the process taking so long?
The biggest hurdle at this time is availability and shipment of the vaccine. Everything hinges on what we receive from the state. We are ready, we are prepared—we just need the vaccine to arrive to begin and are hoping people are patient throughout this process.
What is the timeline?
While Mosaic places orders weekly for the vaccine, until the state confirms and we receive shipment, that order is subject to change. Mosaic is placing orders for as many vials as we can, but the vaccine is in limited supply.
When are appointments available?
Appointment availability may change based on the amount of vaccine we have available. At this time, the community vaccine clinic does not have set days/hours due to the uncertainty of the vaccine. As we have vaccine available, the vaccination site will be open. Please follow the Mosaic Life Care Facebook page for the latest information or visit myMLC.com/vaccine to check for open appointments. When will additional Tiers open?
Unfortunately, at this time, we do not have information on when the state will open access to additional tiers. We will communicate any changes as we receive word from the state of Missouri. Check the state of Missouri for the latest open tiers at www.MoStopsCovid.com.
I am in Tier 2, how do I register?
Eligible individuals can register for the COVID-19 vaccination by visiting myMLC.com/vaccine. If there are not any appointments available, please be patient. Our appointments may be limited due to not having the needed vaccine available. As vaccine is received, more appointments will be added.
What are the hours of the vaccine site?
The hours of the clinic are subject to change based on vaccine availability.
Do I have to schedule an appointment?
Yes, appointments are required. Walk-ins will not be accepted.
Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?
In order to maintain social distancing, each person being vaccinated will be allowed to have one support person in the building. Support people must be 16 years of age or older. No one under the age of 16 will be allowed to enter the building and child care is not provided.
I live/work in the Maryville or Albany area, can I receive a vaccine closer in one of those locations?
- Yes. Both Mosaic Medical Center – Maryville and Mosaic Medical Center – Albany are working with their community partners on vaccination rollout in their areas.
- Regional residents in Maryville - At this time Nodaway County Health Department and Mosaic Medical Center - Maryville are working on scheduling community vaccination events as supply is available. Get added to Maryville's Appointment Request List. You can also be added to St. Joseph's Appointment Request List if you choose.
- Regional residents in Albany - At this time Tri-County Health Department and Mosaic Medical Center - Albany are working through their current wait list. You can also get added to Maryville's Appointment Request List as well as St. Joseph's Appointment Request List.
I have already had COVID-19 but fall into the high-risk category, can I still receive the vaccine?
The CDC recommends that you get vaccinated even if you have already had COVID-19. While you may have some short-term antibody protection after recovering from COVID-19, it is unclear at this time how long that immunity may last.
Before registering for the COVID-19 vaccination please make sure:
- You are out of isolation per the health department’s instructions
- Or, if you have received treatment for COVID with convalescent plasma or an antibody such as Bamlanivimab, Casiriivimab/Imdevimab, or Remdesivir, it has been 90 days since your treatment.
How much will the vaccine cost?
The COVID-19 vaccine will be free, regardless of whether you have private health insurance, are uninsured, or on Medicare. The Centers for Medicare and Medical Services (CMS), private insurers and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) have confirmed the vaccine and appointment will be free, at least throughout the pandemic.
Do I have to receive the second dose?
In order for the vaccine to reach maximum effectiveness, it is crucial that you receive the second dose within 21-28 days of your first dose. If you do not receive the second dose, you will not reach the approximate 95% immunity.
