Heartland Health Becomes Mosaic Life Care

In 1984, 30 years ago, Missouri Methodist Medical Center and St. Joseph Hospital merged to form Heartland Health. Today, Heartland Health celebrates the next chapter with a reinvention into Mosaic Life Care, a physician-led life care company that is introducing a new kind of health care. A health-care delivery model that connects to the hearts, minds and spirits of consumers, which helps them become the healthiest version of themselves and life live well.

Mosaic Life Care is poised to continue the organizational mission to improve the health of individuals as well as communities and provide the right care, at the right time, in the right place, at the right cost with outcomes second to none.

“After extensive consumer research and focus groups, more than 80 percent of consumers tested chose Mosaic Life Care as the name that best describes the way we deliver care. It represents the many aspects of life care and life planning, while putting all of the pieces together,” said Tama Wagner, Chief Brand Officer of Mosaic Life Care. “Placing life care in the name signals our move from health care to life care and shows our difference in the marketplace. To reflect the life care model, we wanted to find the right word that would encompass all of the ways that we provide care.”

Life care is much more than health care. Instead of just focusing on diagnosing and treating a patient, life care looks at the entirety of a person’s life, including health, lifestyle, career, finances, creativity, relationships and inner peace. Mosaic Life Care isn’t just a name change, it’s a total change in the patient experience with more focus on prevention and wellness.

All clinics, services and products throughout the organization’s service region of northwest Missouri, northeast Kansas, southeast Nebraska and Kansas City’s Northland will operate under the Mosaic Life Care model and brand, and over the course of the next year, rebranding efforts will continue to reflect not only the name change, but the more patient engaging delivery model as well.

As a 2009 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award winner and member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network, Mosaic Life Care will also continue its focus and outstanding success achieving the triple aim in health care – quality, value and the patient experience – as well as its nationally recognized work as an Accountable Care Organization.
