The Cancer Center houses the latest—generation linear accelerators, which allow for pinpoint accuracy in radiation therapy. Radiation Oncology nursing staff are oncology certified with sensitivity and compassion toward breast cancer patients.
Our Medical Oncology physicians are highly trained, experienced oncology specialists with outstanding compassion for women experiencing breast cancer. The Cancer Center offers outpatient chemotherapy treatments administered by exceptional oncology certified nurses as well as clinical research trials.
Pathology
The Pathology Department at Mosaic Life Care is responsible for processing breast tissue obtained at the time of biopsy or surgery. All breast tissue is examined by a quality-minded, board-certified pathologist who renders a diagnosis based on the gross and microscopic findings. In some cases, a diagnosis can be rendered within 24 hours. In other cases, more time is needed to perform additional studies.
Many patients, even those treated conservatively, become interested in breast reconstructive surgery to correct asymmetry that may become more severe after treatment. At the Breast Center, we have access to plastic surgical options; it may be as simple as an implant to correct volume changes in the breast, or for more complex cases, multiple-staged methods are available.
