It can be hard for people who have not had cancer to understand how you're feeling. It may help to talk to people who have been in your situation. Other cancer survivors can share their experiences. They can tell you what to expect during treatment.
Talk to a friend or family member who has had cancer. Or connect with other cancer survivors through support groups. Ask your healthcare team about support groups in your area or contact the American Cancer Society. Find support online through Mayo Clinic Connect, which is a community where you can connect with others for support, practical information and answers to everyday questions.
Reach out to friends or neighbors who have had a serious illness. Ask them how they dealt with these complex issues.
