Compressions for a baby who needs CPR
- Place the baby on their back on a firm, flat surface. For example, a table or the floor.
- Place two fingers in the center of the chest, a little below the middle of the breastbone.
- Gently press down on the baby's chest using your two fingers. Push down about 1.5 inches (4 centimeters).
- Do 100 to 120 pushes, called compressions, a minute. It may help to count out loud as you do them.
