Overview

Wasting syndrome is often a sign of disease, such as cancer, AIDS, heart failure, or advanced chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Other symptoms include a lack of appetite, fatigue, and decreased strength.

Treatments

Treatment includes nutritional counseling, medications to stimulate appetite and weight gain, and treating the underlying disease.
