Hypogonadism

Overview

Hypogonadism is a failure of the gonads to function properly. It involves the testes in men and ovaries in women. Production of a man's testosterone and a woman's estrogen are inhibited.

Symptoms

Growth, sexual development, and, sometimes, fertility can be affected.

Treatments

Treatments may include hormone replacement therapy and assisted reproduction.
