Pancreatic cancer

Overview

Pancreatic cancer begins in the organ located behind the lower part of the stomach (pancreas). The pancreas secretes enzymes that aid digestion and hormones that help regulate the metabolism of sugars. This cancer spreads rapidly and often has a poor prognosis.

Treatments

Treatment may include removing the pancreas, radiation, and chemotherapy.
