Overview

A wound is an injury, damage, or trauma to the body.

Symptoms

Wounds can range from a minor cut in the skin to a more serious and deep puncture.

Treatments

Minor wounds may only require cleaning and self-care. Serious or infected wounds require medical attention. Some wounds, such as those that cause heavy bleeding, are a medical emergency.
