Why did you choose your profession?

I think my profession chose me! I was drawn to help people from a young age. From my experience with Hospice and the cares they provided to my grandma, the youth "First Responder" program initiated by Brian McPherson, I obtained my EMT license and worked 911 for several years inevitably going back to school for my RN license. Serving and caring for my community has always been my passion.

Why did you choose Mosaic Medical Center – Maryville?

Again, Mosaic chose me! I had worked with Barb Jensen thru St. Francis Home Health and Hospice. Shared connections were built on compassion, HEART, and quality care. Barb worked for Mosaic Cardiac Rehab and with her retirement, she reached out to me stating that I would be an excellent fit for her position. The timing and position couldn't have been a more perfect fit for me and my family. This is my hometown, the people I know and care deeply about. Mosaic Maryville is where I always knew I would end up, serving my community!

Why did you choose your profession?

I have always had an empathetic soul. People seem to be drawn to me. I have always felt the urge to help others. I started my path in an outpatient clinic and worked my way up to ER tech and that is where I found my true passion to further my career as a nurse. My father and brother have had heart attacks, one leading to open heart surgery and the other with a few stents and a blessing to still be with us. I have always had an interest in the cardiac field after these events.

Why did you choose Mosaic Medical Center – Maryville?

I started on Med surg in Maryville and loved the camaraderie. Maryville had more of a variety of nursing opportunities for me, but still felt like more of a rural town atmosphere that I am used to.
