Keep a #HeadsUp and don’t ignore any sports injury. From sprains to concussions, all injuries are serious.
What happens if I think I have a sports injury?
Don’t hide it.
It’s up to you to report your symptoms. Remember, you won’t play your best if you are not feeling well and your coach and team are relying on you.
Report it.
Tell your coach, parent and athletic trainer if you think you may have injured yourself. The sooner you can get the injury checked out, the sooner you can get back to playing.
Take time to recover.
No one wants to miss a game. But if your athletic trainer and doctor have told you time is needed to recover, follow their instructions. Remember, it’s better to miss one game than the whole season. Nagging injuries that go untreated can turn into chronic problems that require a much longer time away from the sport to allow the injury to heal properly.
