Hannah's Story

At Mosaic Medical Center – Maryville, we know that every birth is unique, but this recent twin delivery reminds us why personalized care matters so much.

Hannah Eiberger came to us feeling nervous about delivery, but confident in her babies and her faith.

“I felt at peace knowing God and Dr. Dodson already had a plan for us.”

“When Baby A was head up and a C-section seemed possible, Dr. Dodson took time to explain every step, offering reassurance and comfort," Hannah shared. "She truly gave me peace.”

Her delivery was fast-paced and unforgettable. She arrived at the maternity unit at 12:40 a.m. and progressed from 5 cm to 9 cm in just 10 minutes. Thanks to the calm coordination of the maternity team, both twins were delivered safely, one breech, within minutes of each other. The twins were born at 35 weeks. Crew weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces while Nash weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces.

“What could have been stressful was handled with confidence and compassion,” Hannah said.

From the delivery room to the nursery, the maternity staff went above and beyond to make this family feel safe and supported.

“Having a maternity unit close to home means the world to me. It gave us peace of mind and a safe, supported journey.”

Along with Dr. Dodson, Hannah wanted to recognize other members of her care team including anesthesiologist Kay Beatty, MD, pediatrician Susan Watson, MD, and maternity unit nurses Jessica Thurman, Sarah Kernen, Katie Castillo, Caitlin Korthanke, Emily Gockel and Rebeca Eldredge.

Education and Resources

No two pregnancies are alike. At Mosaic Medical Center - Maryville, we take the time to understand your individual health history and any issues concerning your pregnancy. From there, we help you develop a birthing plan that nurtures you and your baby’s health.

At every stage of your pregnancy, you will receive skilled, compassionate care. Should any high-risk concerns develop during your pregnancy, we partner with maternal fetal medicine experts to ensure you and your baby receive exceptional care.

Our staff of registered nurses is Neonatal Resuscitation Certified, holding high levels of experience and expertise in maternity care. All our nurses have also completed STABLE (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work and Emotional support) training.

Two lactation certified RNs offer lactation support and provide a breastfeeding support group, Mothering Mondays, every week. We also offer a variety of classes including childbirth education and infant safety.

Patients have the opportunity for a complete tour of the Maternity Unit during their pre-registration appointment.

Fetal monitoring and security systems ensure that you and your child receive the benefits of high-tech care in a safe, secure environment.

All deliveries are performed by medical doctors (MDs), and a physician is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
