Dr. Lukens earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in Cleveland, Ohio. He also completed his surgical internship and residency at CWRU. Dr. Lukens completed a vascular surgery fellowship at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery in General and Vascular Surgery.

Dr. Lukens practices at Mosaic Life Care at St. Joseph, Vascular Surgery. He treats a variety of vascular disorders including carotid artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, abdominal aortic aneurysms and venous insufficiency. Dr. Lukens performs peripheral arterial bypass surgery, open and endovascular repair of aneurysms, carotid artery surgery and venous interventions.

He also sees patients at Mosaic Life Care at St. Joseph, Vein Care. Dr. Lukens evaluates and treats patients with venous insufficiency, varicose veins and spider veins. He offers a range of venous interventions such as radiofrequency ablations, foam sclerotherapy injections, cosmetic sclerotherapy injections, phlebectomies and laser treatment.
