Why did you choose occupational therapy?

I chose occupational therapy (OT) because of the variety of settings and specialties available within the profession. I love that OT allows me to address not only a person's physical needs, but also their cognitive and emotional well-being. Occupational therapy gives me the opportunity to be creative and tailor interventions to each patient's interests and goals.

One of the most rewarding parts of my job is taking the time to get to know my patients, build meaningful relationships and make therapy both effective and enjoyable. Having fun, sharing laughs and celebrating progress with my patients is my favorite part of what I do.

What I enjoy most about my work

Building relationships with patients and helping them achieve their goals while making the rehabilitation process engaging and enjoyable.

Clinical interests

I enjoy working with patients recovering from post-operative orthopedic injuries and sports-related injuries. Helping individuals regain function and return to the activities they enjoy is especially rewarding.

Why did you choose occupational therapy?

I chose occupational therapy (OT) after seeing the impact it had on my grandfather during a hospital stay. Following surgery, an occupational therapist introduced him to adaptive equipment that improved his quality of life and helped make his transition home easier. That experience sparked my interest in OT and inspired me to pursue a career where I could make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
